A Brief History of AL-A'BED
With a capital of 250,000 U.S. Dollars and a staff of 5
people, AL-A'BED has started its business in 1992. AL-A'BED
has paved its way into the Yemeni market beginning with establishing its
administration office in Sana’a (The Capital of Yemen). Utilizing
limited facilities at that time, soon, AL-A'BED began contacting
pharmaceutical products manufacturing companies in nation wide bases.
As a result of that, AL-A'BED has become the sole agent for
Aleppo Pharmaceutical
Industries (Alpha) and Amrit Medical Co. – Syria by the end of 1992 and
for Pharmamed Ltd. & Pharmamed Parenterals Ltd. (PPL), which has changed
its name to Actavis Malta in 2004 and for Mustafa Nevezat (MN) of Turkey
in 2005.
AL-A'BED then had to take a decision of opening wholesale stores to
achieve an effective distribution of products imported from the
principals. Wholesale stores in the main cities, Sana’a, Taiz,
Hodeidah, Ibb, Dhamar, Hadhramout and
Aden were opened and
fully supplied with personnel, equipments and vehicles. AL-A'BED
also appointed subagents in the other provinces, Hajja, Shabwa,
Sa’ada, and Amran.
AL-A'BED Today
Along with importing and marketing pharmaceuticals and
medical appliances, AL-A'BED stands on behalf of pharmaceutical
companies representing and progressing tenders and bids, announced by
either private or governmental sectors in Yemen. Several tenders were
awarded to companies represented by AL-A'BED. AL-A'BED
therefore, has acquired a good reputation inside and outside
Yemen. AL-A'BED
has won the confidence of several pharmaceutical companies. AL-A'BED
however, is making its best to obtain groups of medicines and medical
appliances which provide clients with a satisfied range of choice
according to market needs. The final objective of all business
endeavors of AL-A'BED is to generate added value and to grow by
placing goods and services in the market clients' value in a positive
way.
Now a day, the
growing demand for specialized services by highly
qualified professionals force companies to structure themselves in
business area endowed with the necessary independence flexibility and
response capacity towards their clientele. AL-A'BED is no
exception to this trend and as a consequence, has developed its own
coordinated structure: in the one hand, to response to the growing
demand for new lines of business and in the other, due to the need to
expand and improve traditional services for a continually more demanding
clientele. AL-A'BED, therefore has been reformed and become AL-A'BED
group companies. AL-A'BED Medical Supplies Co. LTD. and
Al-Furqan Trading Corp. are the two main subsidiaries of the group,
which are performing business in the field of pharmaceuticals and
medical supplies. While AL-A'BED has started its activity since 1992 as
mentioned here-above,
Al-Furqan Trading Corp. has launched its pharmaceutical division
early 2004. In the mean time Al-Furqan corp. is a sole agent for
Asia
pharmaceutical Industry, Mediterranean Pharmaceutical Industry (MPI),
both of Syria
and Actavis of Iceland.
